Mi Casa is unique in that the company is managed by all volunteers unlike other non-profit organizations, no one takes a salary.
Since our volunteers do the majority of management, outreach and fundraising, we have been able to obtain grants for major repairs and improvements. This allows us to minimize overhead costs, and keep our rental rates low. We are proud to serve a segment of the working poor that many low-income housing programs cannot afford to reach.
We are seeking volunteers willing to commit 5 to 10 hours a months and have skills or interests in one or more of the following areas:

- Acquainting potential donors, sponsors, partners and volunteers with Mi Casa’s mission,
- Developing innovative ways to reach our community through event planning,
- Researching potential sources of funding and developing proposals,
- Managing annual budgets, investments, and identifying trends,
- Assessing physical condition of our properties, identifying maintenance and repair requirements,
- Following real estate market trends and identifying potential acquisitions,
- Identifying tenant needs and how Mi Casa can better respond to tenant issues
- Researching Federal, State and local regulations concerning low-income housing, and
- Advocating the needs of our service population to Federal, State and local entities.
