Mi Casa continually works to keep our properties in good condition

In 2019 and 2020, Mi Casa embarked on a major rehabilitation of three of our apartment buildings in Sumner.

3 new roofs,
3 new exteriors, and
12 new kitchens
Thanks to generous funding in 2019 we were able to....
  • New roofs installed on 3 four-plex buildings on Washington Street in Sumner.
  • Replace the exterior siding on all three buildings.
  • Install new kitchen cabinets and appliances in all 12 apartments.
  • Painting the decking and exterior of all of the buildings. This will extend the life of the siding and decks as well as improve the appearance, beautifying the area for the community.

  • In 2017 and 2018, repairs were made to the entryway stairs and deck stairs and add better lighting for added safety.
  • Upgraded existing windows to energy efficient windows. This will provide added warmth for the tenants, a smaller electrical bill for them and a lower environmental footprint for the community.
  • Repaired all parking lots to make them safer and to keep them in good working order.
  • Added fencing to completely enclose the back of the buildings adding to the safety of the children playing in the back yards.

This rehab was made possible thanks to grants from the Federal HOME program and Pierce County Community Connections and SHB 2060 funds paid by Pierce County Residents.

Mi Casa continually works to keep our buildings, apartments, and duplexes in good condition. For large capital improvements we rely on grants and private donations.
